Child & Youth Alliance
The Coalition’s Child and Youth Alliance is a strategic partnership between AKCVMF and the Alaska National Guard Child & Youth Program, the JBER and Ft. Wainright Child Development Centers, Thread, Camp Fire Alaska Council, Boys & Girls Club, Alaska Boy Scouts, Alaska Girls Scouts, the JBER and Ft. Wainright School District Liaisons, and Anchorage and Fairbanks School Districts. The purpose of this alliance is to development and implement training materials and opportunities for early childhood and school-age childhood educators with a focus on military children. Members of the coalition design curriculum using accredited and scholarly research to provide during in-person trainings hosted by AKCVMF and/or key stakeholders. The curriculum is solely focused on the veteran and military topics as they affect children of veteran and military families. The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services recognizes AKCVMF training as eligible training hours for childcare providers completing their annual training. The Alaska Department of Education recognizes AKCVMF trainings as eligible training hours for non-academic credits for Alaskan teachers. Thread offers AKCVMF trainings for free to early educators in their network.
