Due to the high risk of potential exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 virus and in consideration for our Veterans and Military Families, we have made the decision to host this event online.
This was an incredibly difficult decision for us and it was not made lightly. We evaluated the population we serve, the highly contagious nature of the virus and the thousands of individuals who travel in and out of Alaska daily. We decided that it was necessary to mitigate the risk of exposure to more vulnerable populations within our community. As a result of our decision, we have also rescheduled the Summit to 20-21 October 2020 and will be including a link to the summit event on this page. At this time, there are no plans to cancel this event. We have seen tremendous growth, which only demonstrates the incredible need our organization and this event are fulfilling. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email us at admin@akcvmf.org or 907-334-0873. You can register here. **COVID-19 Update: Due to the high risk of potential exposure of COVID-19 and in consideration of our Veterans and Military Families, we have made the decision to postpone the 2nd Annual Alaska Veterans & Military Families Summit. Alaska is currently at high risk for developing an outbreak due to the amount of out of state visitors we have had recently and out of state travel that Alaskans love.
This was an incredibly difficult decision for the team at the Alaska Coalition for Veterans & Military Families and we did not make this decision lightly. We evaluated the population we serve, the highly contagious nature of the virus and the thousands of individuals who travel in and out of Alaska daily. We decided that it was best to postpone the event at least 60 days in order to reduce the risk of exposure to more vulnerable populations within our community. As a result of our decision, we have rescheduled the Summit to 19-20 June 2020. We will continue to monitor events, the spread of the virus and other factors as we plan for the new dates. At this time, there are no plans to cancel this event. We have seen tremendous growth, which only demonstrates the incredible need our organization and event are fulfilling. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at admin@akcvmf.org or 907-334-0873.** The Alaska Coalition For Veterans & Military Families invites you to join us for two days of networking, interactive learning and access to resources in one location.
